Salinity... and What happened.Salinity is the saltiness or dissolved salt content of a body or in a soil.
Salinity in the ocean refers to the water's "saltiness". In this lab we saw how salinity affects density. We had four beakers, dye, water and test tubes. We first got our beakers and placed water into it and then we added color dye in it (red ,green and blue) and some of our beakers had no salt in it, and we had others that had a little amount of salt and one that had a whole bunch in it to see the difference between having salt in the water and dye or without it. Once we mixed the water, salt and dye into one we poured it into a test tube and mixed everything that we had. By experiencing what happened the density then was all settled towards the very bottom and the one that wasn't the most dense made its way to the very top. |
